Why the Men In Black?
We cater to events small and huge, but you will always get our A-game. Our
goal is the same as yours; that you and your guests have a great time.
Once your contract has been signed with MiB, we aren’t just taking your deposit
and promising to show up the day of your event; we’re there with you along the way.
We will work out your format and music preferences, offer suggestions, but at
the end of the day it’s your party and we’ll do everything we can to make your
event happen as you wish it.
Our music selection is current and varied, containing more than 30,000 tracks,
so it's rare that I won't have a song someone wants to hear.
Beyond that, we are very well equipped to handle a wide mix of music and are
always happy to play requests.
While we are primarily a DJ service, we offer karaoke and live entertainment
services as well (jazz trio playing dinner music, a pianist playing you down the
aisle,or a comedian/magician entertaining after dinner at your company party
or fundraiser)…lots of possiblities.
If you’re planning a wedding, work party, mitzfah, stag and doe, celebraton of
life, banquet, fundraiser, birthday party, Halloween party, New Years party,
intimate dinner party, convention, or any reason you want to celebrate,
the Men In Black will rock your house.
Men In Black Entertainment strives to deliver great service at a reasonable price.
We are reliable, professional, and friendly. We look forward to putting our experience to work at your function.

It is often said of an event, that peole will remember three things: the food, the crazy drunken toasts, and the music.
We can’t do much about the first two, but Men In Black Enterainment’s DJs are always watching the crowd. If they aren’t
up and dancing, we will change the music and ask for requests to encourage them to get up
(and get down, and get funky).
We have some great equipment, a thorough and huge digital music catalog, and the musical knowledge to tie it all
together for you.
The base service always incudes:
•
Sound system adequate for up to 150 people
•
Cordless microphone for speeches
•
2 dance floor lighting effects
•
MC service if required
Weddings
To us, there is nothing more important on your wedding day than your
comfort in knowing that the music is taken care of, we know what is
happening and when.
Our involvement at the wedding starts when your guests are outside the
hall. We are inside, everything is set up, lights are ready to go, and there’s
the background music of your choice playing.
Our consultation is comprehensive. We will meet with you for a
consultation about a month before your wedding to finalize your
iitinerary and music preferences..We work out the details on the songs
you would like played for your cocktails and dinner, your entrance music,
and of course, your specific songs. We also will check in with your hall
staff to make sure that everything is timed properly - making sure that
the dinner is ready to be served when we start your Grand Entrance, so
that there are no awkward gaps in the program. Our goal here is to plan
everything related to our involvement in your event so that you can relax
and have a good time.
Beyond the music, we do your wedding your way. If you want all of the
normal ‘wedding cheese’; bouquet and garter tosses, kissing games,
maybe a congo line or generation dance, we’re happy to do that.
Or none of it; whatever works for you.
Or if you want a non-traditional, completely different wedding plan, we
can do that as well.
Same-Sex Weddings
It’s painful for us when people ask if we are ok with a wedding with two
brides or two grooms (or whatever combinaton and label you wish to
use). There is no need to ask if we’re ok with it - WE ABSOLUTELY ARE.
We are happy to work out the program of the night, no matter how far
you’re breaking with tradition. For us, it’s about equality and everybody
having a great time.
Theme Weddings
Are you planning a theme wedding? Have a Jedi officiant? Maybe a
Klingon Best Man? Is your wedding limo a TARDIS? With a name like
“Men In Black”, you know we have the right attitude to pull off your
theme properly. Live long and prosper!
Sound and Lighting
Other options:
Additional cordless/lapel microphones
Hazer (makes lighting all look like laser beams)
Bigger, bassier sound - depending on the size of the party, we would
recommend larger speakers and a bass bin to ensure you really feel the
music.
Decorative uplighting
More lighting - lots of possibilities for semi intelligent and intelligent
lighting. If you have something in mind, we can definitely deliver.
In the last couple of years, we’ve expanded to offer karaoke servces, alongside our great DJ service.
Our catalog is massive and thorough, with all of your favourite hits and some obscure classics, or a funny novelty
song. We cover the bases. We’re all about fun, not ability.
This isn’t a game show, there’s no record contract at the end, and we’re all about being a little silly in front of your
friends and co-workers. Unless you really can sing an want to show off your talent, then please enjoy yourself.
We use an app called SongbookDB, which contains the titles of our entire catalog, and allows you to request songs to
sing through the app.

Who Are the Men In Black?
Men In Black Entertainment was started in late 2001. Mark and
Simon, the two partners in the MiB were DJing a friend’s wedding and
were both wearing black suits, white shirts, and black ties.
A few times that night, people said “Hey look, it’s the men in black”,
and the name stuck.
Since then, they’ve played music, MC’d, and performed live music at
more than 600 functions between the two of us.
We like to think we’ve learned a few things along the way.
Beyond being business partners, they’re lifelong friends who met
way back in the third grade (sometime during the stone age).
We have a philosophy: Provide a great service at a reaonable price. We are professional and friendly, and try and plan every detail (that we’re
involved in) as best we can so that there are no surprises. We include MC services and dance floor lighting with every function, as we do not like
nickel and diming our clients; we are a business, but we offer a reasonable base service with upgrades available, such as karaoke, extra lighting,
bigger sound, hazer/fog machines, uplighting, and live entertainment options.
We wanted to create a company that was different than every other “Joe’s DJ Service” around, in that from day one, we’ve offered traditional DJ
services, often combined with live music services for a wedding ceremony (such as a violinist, pianist, classical guitarist), or for cocktails/dinner music
(our jazz trio does a wonderful job with a combination of saxophone, piano, and bass).
We want to work with you, get an idea of what you need done, so that we can exceed those needs and make sure everybody has a great time at your
function.
Also, We hear from clients all the time who are looking for a DJ because their chosen DJ was suddenly (and usually with little/no notice) unavailable
to do their function. This will never happen with MiB.
It’s in every contract we do that if we are unable to attend, for whatever reason, it is our responsibility to find a replacement at no additional cost to
you. In our case, Simon is Mark’s backup, Mark is Simon’s backup, and if we’re both occupied, we know many skilled DJs who would do a great job.
That said, we’ve never had an issue or missed a function. We just want to make sure we’re covered in case of a worst-case scenario. Just like having
backup equipment, this is how we bring peace of mind to our clients.
